Rated 3 ½ stars by Golf Digest, Swan Lake Golf and Country Club is one of the finest golf courses in the area. Carved out of a wooded area by William Mitchell, Swan Lake offers a challenging layout with beautiful scenic mountain views. While enjoying this beautiful layout, you will appreciate how the front and back differ greatly from each other and offer challenges for all to enjoy. Open fairways are bountiful along the front nine that stratifies the hillside, while the back nine is carved out with tree-lined tight fairways. Whether you are a right or left handed golfer or a fade or draw player, Swan Lake offers holes that accommodate all skill levels.
Many different elevation changes will let you enjoy the beautiful mountains as you are negotiating your way around the golf course. Just when you think you have the course licked, the four finishing holes can catch up with you in a hurry. The fifteenth hole is a short par four that requires a precise tee shot moving from right to left, with a long but narrow green awaiting. On sixteen, you are faced with the longest par three on the course. It often makes you question if you hit the right club with its uphill tee shot to a large green that is sloped from back to front. Seventeen will have you thinking birdie because it is a short par five, but those thoughts can be quickly dashed if you fail to reach the narrow fairway. The eighteenth offers a beautiful backdrop of the clubhouse as you complete your round. As you make your own approach around the bend, pay close attention to the flag as you can have at least a three-club difference if the pin is in the back or front of the green, which is well-guarded by two bunkers.
Bobby Menges and the staff here at the Swan Lake will do everything in our ability to make your round an enjoyable experience. When you leave the course, we want you to feel as though you are a part of the Swan Lake family, which is why we always welcome you in for a nice cool beverage or cocktail, while over looking fellow golfers conquering the eighteenth.
If you are looking for a place to have an outing with a beautiful outdoor barbecue facility, or enough room inside to seat 100 players, Swan Lake Golf and Country Club would love to plan any such event with you.
